Introduction to customer Taihei Kozai Co., Ltd.
Taihei Kozai Co., Ltd. is a specialized trading company which handles stainless and aluminum steels and specializes in non-ferrous metals. It has a large inventory of mainly stainless and aluminum steels, in particular, it has an inventory of various kinds of stainless steels. It also possesses wide range of cutting equipment and is in the process of strengthening its cutting work sales for shorter Installation times.
Taihei Kozai Co., Ltd. was in search of material shelves for its new factory.
It had an automated warehouse for 1’ × 2’ plates and 4’ × 8’ plates in its existing factory and was considering to relocate the automated warehouse to new factory, however, there was only one warehousing and dispatching station, and it took time to warehouse and dispatch materials, and when the master crane broke down, materials could not be brought out, therefore, the company wanted to consider shelves other than an automated warehouse. And, there was a request that it would want to store material of 5’ × 10’ size and store as many materials as possible.
Evaluated point 1: Improvement in work efficiency
Some cutting equipment could be installed in front of the stocker by installing 6 stockers for steel plates and 2 stockers for elongated materials side by side by the wall of the factory, and work efficiency from unloading material to cutting work was improved. And, by installing multiple stockers, the unloading of materials could be performed even if one stocker had failed.
Evaluated point 2: Number of materials stored by utilizing height of the factory
In order to store as many materials as possible, effective height per one stage was expanded by utilizing height of the factory so as to store 2 packs of materials on one pallet and increase storage capacity.
